19th Century Antique Primitive Wooden Carpenters Shaving Horse - Long Work Bench Clamp

Rustic carpenter's woodworking bench, or Schnitzelbank, likely handmade by the carpenter themselves. This piece is a combination vice and workbench used in green woodworking, or crafting from unseasoned (green) timber. Its most typical utilization is for creating a rounded profile from a square piece for table and chair legs, and bow staves. The "pedal" on the bottom is connected to the vice and activates a clamp to hold the lumber in place. This was considered THE item for any laborer to have before the advent of electric machinery. Due to the age of this piece, it is being sold as a display and has not been tested for use, but structurally and cosmetically, it is in good, primitive, condition.
